Just days before the Bauma trade show, Kubota officially unveils its very first wheeled excavators, developed in close collaboration with Liebherr—a major step forward for the brand’s construction equipment lineup in Europe. These new models, the KW095 and KW115, are based on Liebherr's proven technology and mark a first for both companies: the first Liebherr excavators ever equipped with Kubota engines.

A Major Milestone: The KW095 and KW115

The announcement of these new 9- and 11-ton wheeled excavators was one of the most anticipated reveals at Bauma. Designed to meet the needs of urban and compact job sites, the KW095 (9.7–11.5 t) and KW115 (10.8–12.8 t) will both be powered by Kubota’s V3800 Stage V engine, available in two output levels—55 kW (74.5 hp) and 80 kW (110 hp).

These excavators are tailored for the European market, and production is scheduled to begin at Liebherr’s facilities in 2026.

A Strategic Partnership to Expand Kubota’s Range

Why this collaboration? As the global leader in compact excavators under 6 tonnes, Kubota has long been a reference in the construction industry. However, the brand sought to expand its presence in the fast-growing 10-ton wheeled excavator segment, particularly suited to urban applications.

Liebherr, a historical leader in wheeled excavators, was the ideal partner to bring Kubota’s vision to life. From the outset, the two companies worked hand-in-hand, conducting market studies and defining product concepts. Their shared research naturally led to the development of these two new models, based on the next-generation successors to Liebherr’s A910 and A912.

A First for Both Brands

Not only do these machines represent Kubota’s first wheeled excavators, but they also mark the first time Liebherr has integrated Kubota engines into its equipment—a strong symbol of trust and technical compatibility between the two manufacturers.

The Future of Urban Excavation Starts Here

With the launch of the KW095 and KW115, Kubota signals its ambition to grow beyond the compact segment, offering professionals in Europe a new, high-performance alternative in the wheeled excavator market. Backed by the expertise of Liebherr and powered by Kubota’s reliable engines, these machines are set to become a new benchmark in compact mobility and urban efficiency.
